What do cooking, driving, and reading all have in common? These daily tasks all require good cognitive ability which is why it's important to keep your brain sharp so you can keep thriving as you age.

Here are 4 simple ways to stay at the top of your game!

1. Give Your Mind a Challenge – Play Games!

Engaging in mentally stimulating activities like puzzles, crosswords, or card and board games are all examples of ways you can improve your mental resilience and cognitive ability.

2. Engage in Physical Activity

Walking, yoga, or pickleball are all easy ways to increase daily physical activity. Doing one of these activities a few times a week will not only boost your physical health, but it also benefits your brain as well. Increased blood flow to your brain during physical activity promotes the growth of new neural connections and improves mental health.

3. Eat a Brain Boosting Diet

Eating a balanced diet has been proven to greatly reduce the risk of cognitive decline. A good place to start is making sure your plate has fruits, veggies, whole grains, and healthy fats like those found in olive oil or salmon. 4. Find Purposeful Activities

The last and most fulfilling way to maintain your brain health is to fill your days with activities that provide a sense of purpose. Playing with your grandkids, volunteering with local organizations, and pursuing new hobbies are all examples of ways to foster purpose and encourage mental well-being.
