Black History Month Screening of "Harriet"
Celebrating Black History Month in Louisville
AARP Kentucky volunteers in Louisville are proud to offer an exclusive screening of the award winnning film, Harriet.
The true life story is based on the extraordinary life of an American hero, Harriet Tubman. She escaped from slavery and In the 2019 film “Harriet” is yed by a young, fiery depiction of the American icon, who escaped slavery only to return to the South repeatedly as a conductor known as "Moses" on the Underground Railroad.
Kasi Lemmons, writer-director of Harriet, winner of best time capsule, called the film’s hero — escaped slave Harriet Tubman — “One of the baddest black women to ever walk the earth.”
