In 2022, the AARP Maine team will continue our work as a fierce defender for Maine's 50+ population, but we need support from our volunteers. Join us in advocating for legislation that supports family caregivers, keeps utilities affordable, and fosters livable communities with affordable and appropriate housing for older individuals, accessible transportation options, and affordable high-speed Internet access.

Our advocacy program gives you a voice on the issues that matter most to your family, friends and community. Volunteer advocates engage legislators, deliver testimony, and support important state and federal issues that impact the health and financial security of Mainers over 50. Interested in policy or concerned about the political process? This program may be right for you, prior experience is not necessary.

Our “Tuesdays at the State House” program is now virtual and will remain so for the start of 2022. We will continue to assess safety and the changing situation of COVID 19 before considering a return to in person volunteering. You can advocate right from home and enact real change for all Mainers. We provide all the training and support you'll need!
