Become a San Jose Advocacy Team Volunteer!
We invite you to APPLY to the AARP San Jose Advocacy Team (SJAT). Your voice is critical in the effort to safeguard the programs and services important to people ages 50+ and their families in our community.
AARP SJAT volunteers serve as AARP’s local points-of-contact with their respective elected officials and advocate on vital issues that matter most to older adults. You do not need special expertise to join the team – AARP will provide formal training to all volunteers. If you are interested in joining the volunteer team, here’s what to do:
1. Consider registering and attending one of our two optional San Jose Advocacy Team Office Hours to learn more about the volunteer team and application process.
- Session #1 – Friday, February 25 @ Noon PT: aarp.cventevents.com/SJATOfficeHour022522

2. Complete the volunteer application HERE by March 25, 2022.
3. An AARP staff member will then reach out to you in April regarding next steps.
