Emergency Preparedness
From the pandemic to floods, extreme weather events to increasing occurrence of wildfires--disasters and emergencies are challenging for everyone, but for older adults the impact can be greater.
Disasters of all kinds affect older adults disproportionately, especially those with chronic diseases, disabilities or conditions that require extra assistance to leave an unsafe area and recover from an event.
ORPrepare is a disaster preparedness resource hub with the goals of empowering users with information and tools to plan and prepare for the next emergency and building greater understanding of emergency preparedness and community resilience.
AARP Disaster Resilience Toolkit features strategies to help local, state and community leaders and advocates reduce the risk and impacts of disasters on older adults.
