Baseball, Food, Fireworks at Canaries Night
After a long winter cooped up inside, AARP members in the Sioux Falls area have a great opportunity to get outside for an evening of baseball and fun—ending with fireworks.
AARP Night at the Canaries, a popular annual event, will be on Friday, June 7.
The main attraction will be a minor-league game between the Sioux Falls Canaries and Gary (Ind.) SouthShore RailCats at Sioux Falls Stadium, also known as the Birdcage.
The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
In addition to socializing, members can indulge in all the ballpark food they want and enjoy the fireworks. They can also pick up fraud-protection tips.
Members will be able to buy tickets for themselves and guests for $15 each. The regular value for most tickets is about $25. Discount tickets may be purchased until June 6 at the team box office, at 1001 N. West Ave.
You can also order tickets by calling 605-336-6060. Mention the promotion code HomeRun 19.
Ticket holders will score good seats for the game and access to a buffet that’s expected to include hot dogs, hamburgers, beans, chips and lemonade.
“We always choose to do AARP Night at the Canaries on Fridays because Friday-night games conclude with fireworks,” said Erik Nelson, advocacy director for AARP in Sioux Falls.
