Attorney General Tim Fox to discuss Fraud Prevention and Consumer Protection with Montanans

Posted on 07/17/19 by Stacia Dahl

Attorney General Tim Fox will discuss fraud prevention and consumer protection Tuesday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m. during a telephone town hall meeting.

AARP Montana will host the statewide live event and will allow AARP members to ask Fox how they can protect themselves from fraud, scams and con artists.

“Identity theft and other forms of fraud rank high among the concerns of the 50-plus in Montana,” said Tim Summers, AARP Montana state director. “It’s estimated that fraud costs older Americans anywhere from $2.9 billion to $36 billion per year.”

AARP will call its members in Montana to invite them to participate. Those interested will only need to hold on the line to be placed into the live event with Fox. Participants can ask their questions. AARP has about 150,000 members in Montana. All AARP households with current phone numbers will be called to participate in the meeting.

In addition to AARP Montana members, the general public can also participate by preregistering for the event. Preregistration places them on the list for the outgoing calls. People can register by logging on to https://vekeo.com/event/aarpmontana-44513/
