As Your Cars Get Smarter, You Should, Too

Posted on 02/28/23 by The AARP Bulletin

New technology is rapidly changing your car, with features such as drowsy driver alerts and forward-collision warnings.

AARP Tennessee encourages Volunteer State drivers to take advantage of AARP’s Smart DriverTEK workshop — 90-minute classes that show how to use that new technology.

Smart DriverTEK — offered online as a Zoom class or as a self-paced -session — was developed by AARP Driver Safety and The Hartford, an insurance company. (In-person classes may be offered at a later date.)

Attendees can learn about the technology on vehicles they own, or they can explore options on cars they might buy.

To learn more about the classes, visit aarp.org/sdtek.

The classes are free, but completion does not lower drivers’ insurance rates.
