Volunteers Needed -- to help plan interactive activities with elementary school special education students. The Las Cruces Chapter would like to restart a program working in the schools once a month to provide activities. If interested please sign up at the Dec. 18 Chapter meeting.

AARP Movies for Grownups Presents “Won't you be my neighbor” – this free showing of the story of Mr. Rodgers, played by Tom Hanks, will be held Monday, Dec. 9th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Cineport 10, 700 S. Telshor Blvd., in Las Cruces. To register: visit https://aarp.cvent.com/NEIGHBORHOOD_LasCruces Registration does not guarantee a seat. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis.

AARP Information Tables: The Chapter will host an information table at the Farmer's Market downtown Jan. 4 from 8 a.m. until noon. The table will include information on a variety of AARP programs and resources.

Chapter Meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 18 --- This month’s meeting will feature a performance by Chords, a quartet of men who sing for the fun of it. The Chapter’s Board of Directors will provide home-made desserts, coffee and hot chocolate. Join us to start the Christmas Season!

Disrupt Aging – Monday, Feb. 17, 1 p.m., Senior Amigos, 39248 Lohman Ave. Las Cruces. Presenter: Dave Lynch.

We Need to Talk – Monday, March 9, 1 p.m., Senior Amigos, 39248 Lohman Ave. Las Cruces. Presenter: Dave Lynch.

Medical Identify Theft – Monday, March 16, 1 p.m. Senior Amigos, 39248 Lohman Ave. Las Cruces. Presenter: Bill Regis.

Driver Safety

Refresh your driving skills with the AARP Driver Safety Course. Learn defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies, new traffic laws and rules of the road. Upon completion, participants will receive a multi-year discount on your auto insurance premium. The Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Cash or check only. Credit cards are not accepted.
