In South Jefferson County, construction is about to commence for a unique intergenerational community that values diversity and inclusion. With 77 apartment homes, Trailhead Community*, a nonprofit, will bring together active seniors, professionals and adults with developmental disabilities to create an intentional “extended family.” Homes are available both for purchase and rent.

Amenities will include a 24/7 concierge staff, fitness room, sports court, media room, art studio, meeting rooms, covered courtyard and an active social schedule. Affordable monthly costs include robust wifi and internet access, all utilities, and advanced tech-safe home and smart-home features. Every home has a full kitchen but there will also be three meals a day served in the community dining room, in case you don’t feel like cooking! All homes are ADA compliant.

The project is designed for people who would like to spend time developing meaningful relationships with other adults of various ages as abilities. Trailhead is currently accepting applications for purchase and is encouraging you to apply if you are a Senior who does not necessarily want to live in an “all-seniors” community or an adult who wants to live in a community of good neighbors.
