Aging Services, Retirement Savings on 2026 Agenda

Posted on 01/01/26 by AARP Bulletin

As lawmakers return to Jefferson City this month, AARP Missouri will advocate for laws and policies that help residents 50-plus. Issues include:

  • Prioritizing funding for local Area Agencies on Aging and for statewide home- and community-based services.
  • Helping with implementation of the state’s new Show-Me MyRetirement Savings Plan, which will offer a retirement savings option for workers without access to such a plan at their jobs.
  • Advocating for a Medicaid work exemption for people who provide unpaid care to older adults.
