Advocating to Support Michigan Residents 50+
State lawmakers will return to session Jan. 12, and AARP Michigan is ready to advocate for policies that benefit the state’s older residents.
Key issues include improving the state’s long-term care system by using onetime federal funds that could expand access to home- and community-based services, as well as improving conditions in nursing homes.
AARP Michigan will also be advocating for direct-care workforce issues and affordable, accessible high-speed internet service across the state.
AARP is always in need of citizen advocates to make priorities known to legislators. For more information, contact Andrea Palmer at apalmer@aarp.org or call 866-227-7448.
