AARP Did Not Authorize or Participate in Production
of Senate Candidate Jaime Harrison’s Ad Targeting U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham

Wednesday, September 16, 2020
COLUMBIA, S.C.—AARP South Carolina State Director Teresa Arnold released the following statement today in response to senate candidate Jaime Harrison’s citation of AARP and use of AARP’s logo in a political ad targeting U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Arnold said:

“AARP did not authorize or participate in the production of the advertisement targeting Senator Lindsey Graham. Further, Harrison’s ad includes the unauthorized use of AARP’s logo. AARP has a proud 34-year history of non-partisan voter engagement and does not endorse or oppose candidates, nor does AARP make contributions to political campaigns or candidates. We encourage all South Carolinians to ask questions, so they understand where the candidates stand on important issues when making their own decisions in this election.”
