If you live in Colorado, you may already know it is a state blessed with a vibrant Latino culture – the best in art, music, food and educational opportunities to learn and volunteer are right here.

But if you don’t know what AARP does in the Hispanic community, read on because AARP Colorado is involved in many things that help elevate Latinos, as well as celebrate this rich culture.

AARP is a proud supporter of many fun activities, as well as social services that improve the lives of many Coloradans and their families. A sample of some of our events and offerings are below.

AARP sponsors or partially sponsors the following:

  • El Centro Su Teatro, a Chicano theater group based in Denver.
  • The Chicano Movimiento Exhibit at the Colorado History Museum.
  • Citizenship classes at Centro San Juan Diego.
  • The Cesar Chavez March.
  • Cinco de Mayo celebration in Pueblo.
  • The Lena Archuleta Awards.
  • CHAC, Chicano Humanities and Arts Council’s Dia De Los Muertos.
  • The Colorado Women Hall of Fame.
  • Bilingual Tax-Aid services at Centro San Juan Diego and the main Aurora Library.
  • Hispanic community forums on affordable housing.
  • Spanish-language Drivers Safety classes.

Look for these events and services throughout the year by visiting the AARP Colorado website aarp.org/CO. We will list dates, times and locations as the offerings become available. For specific questions, or to talk to a Spanish speaker, call Roberto Rey at 303-764-6763.
