Hispanic voter voting in polling place

Join AARP Colorado as its El Comité advisory group presents a Latino Leadership online panel discussion “Votar es Poder/Your Voice is Your Vote.”

The presentation is designed to open channels of communication about the current challenges to our community’s right to vote, as well as efforts to increase Hispanic/Latino voter participation. The virtual event will be July 15, 10-11 a.m.

Among the featured panelists are Denver County Clerk and Recorder Paul Lopez.

Given his efforts to reform Denver’s elections to enhance voter participation, El Comité is honored to have López’s participation on the panel. The panel will be moderated by Angela Cortez, AARP Colorado communications director and will also include:

  • State Senator Julie Gonzales
  • Jacqueline Argueta from Voces Unidas de las Montañas
  • Deb Suniga from the Latino Coalition of Weld County
  • Denise Denise Maes, ACLU
