AARP VI and VI DHS Collaborate for Elder Justice Summit 2025

AARP VI in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (VIDHS) will bring our community stakeholder partners together for dialogue on the malady of elder abuse in the Territory of the US Virgin Islands. Guests include law enforcement officers, financial institutions’ staff, healthcare professionals, advocates, senior residential facility staff, and caregivers. The summit aims to support responders in swiftly identifying, intervening in, and resolving elder abuse situations.

The featured guest speaker will be retired District Attorney, Paul Greenwood. Greenwood's experience includes involvement in the prosecution of over 750 felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse, both physical and financial. He will be giving a presentation on his experience in criminal prosecution and litigation involving elders and dependent adults. Greenwood is a seasoned trainer, consultant and expert witness in elder abuse issues.

AARP VI and VI DHS has invited healthcare professionals including frontline workers from the various entities of the VI Department of Health on St. Thomas and St. Croix to participate in the first of this ongoing series.
