AARP to Sponsor Wisdom Warrior Challenge the Race for the Ages

AARP is a proud sponsor of the second annual Wisdom Warrior Challenge (WWC). “The Race for the Ages,” a national track event which will take place during the month of April in different senior living communities throughout Florida, began in Palm Beach County last year as a fun and inspiring way to motivate seniors to get moving and become active, making physical activity a regular part of their lifestyle.

The event is free and open to senior communities and their residents. Some communities even welcome friends and neighbors. Senior participants range in age from 55 to 105 years old. Athletes can participate in any event from 50 meters to one mile. The event also accommodates those with a walking device and/or self-propelled wheelchairs.

The Wisdom Warrior Challenge will kick off April 1st in Lake Worth. At the end of April, the winning community will receive recognition. Team scores will be submitted to rank the athletes for their overall performance in the event. All the communities that participate in the events will be a part of the final awards ceremony, which will be live streamed in June.
