AARP to Join Lancaster Open Streets

AARP Pennsylvania is, once again, attending Open Streets and encourages you to stop by our booth for giveaways, games and information on how AARP is helping protect Social Security.

Lancaster is set to host its 10th Annual Open Streets event on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., transforming Water Street into a vibrant, car-free corridor. Organized by Lancaster Rec in collaboration with the City of Lancaster and the Lancaster Bikes program, this free, family-friendly celebration invites residents and visitors to walk, bike, skate, and explore eight blocks of downtown Lancaster in a safe and festive environment.

The event aims to promote physical activity, community engagement, and a reimagining of urban spaces as accessible and people-centered.

Attendees can look forward to a diverse array of activities, including live music, local food trucks, art installations, and wellness-focused programming. With over 100 vendors and community organizations participating, the event offers opportunities to discover local businesses, engage with other nonprofits, and connect with neighbors.
