AARP to Co-Host “Our Miami: The People’s Forums”
In the coming weeks, AARP Florida in collaboration with the Miami Foundation, will co-host several forums with candidates running for local office in the Miami area. The “Our Miami: The People’s Forums” virtual event series is intended to give voters in Miami-Dade County the opportunity to get to know the candidates. These virtual forums will highlight issues facing the county this election year, including transportation, affordable housing, urban development and more. Attendees will have the option to submit questions in advance for candidates to answer during the forum.
AARP Florida State Director Jeff Johnson said, “We know that voters 50+ will decide the future of Florida, and AARP Florida supports opportunities for the public to get engaged and be better informed as they prepare to visit the polls. These events are another example of AARP Florida’s efforts to highlight voter education and collaboration in the community. We encourage residents to sign up online and check out the election resources available on the Miami Foundation’s website.”
Registration is now open. Please see the virtual event details below and visit Our Miami People's Forums to learn more about the election process, including key dates and other election resources. Accessibility options will available, including English to Spanish language interpretation and American Sign Language interpretation.
