AARP Tampa Bay partners with Florida CraftArt for a Purr-fect Summer Series
AARP in Tampa Bay is working with Florida CraftArt to bring inspiring artwork and pet-friendly events to the city of St. Petersburg in Woof, Meow, Chirp and Slither, a summer series dedicated to both your furry, feathered and reptilian friends. Woof, Meow, Chirp and Slither runs from June 7 - August 10, 2019. The series features workshops and meet-ups that showcase how pets contribute to our health, happiness and longevity.
“At Florida CraftArt, our gallery artists, customers, volunteers, and staff are like family. And, our pets are family, too. As a pet-friendly business, we often welcome well-behaved dogs and, sometimes, other pets, into the gallery,” said Katie Deits, CFRE executive director of Florida CraftArt. This exhibit gives us a chance to partner with other organizations, such as SPCA and PAWS, in order to reach out to the community with educational programming. For our artists, it gives them the opportunity to commemorate their pets or just create a fun piece of art.”
The summer series also announces St. Pete PAWS, a happy, welcome and healthy pets initiative. St. Pete PAWS aims to promote a pet-friendly city by teaming up with various animal shelters, organizations, and local businesses to enhance and expand St. Petersburg’s “pawprint.”
“AARP in Tampa Bay is an enduring partner with Florida CraftArt because of its community-centric role in giving local artists a user-friendly outlet to showcase their work,” said Michelle Cyr, associate state director for advocacy and outreach in Tampa Bay. “As part of our continuing effort to connect with the community across topics from entrepreneurism to living longer, more enriched lives, this collaboration around pets and their human families is truly exciting as it innovatively connects us to the things we love about life in St. Pete.”
All events are meant to bring together you and your furry friends in an artistic atmosphere. Admission is free.
