AARP SC Welcomes New State Volunteer President

Posted on 02/23/24 by Sheree Muse

The State Volunteer President works in partnership and collaboration with the state director, staff members and other volunteers to position AARP strategically to advance AARP’s mission of improving the lives of older Americans. The president additionally chairs the AARP South Carolina Executive Council—a group of volunteer leaders representing each congressional district.

Our newest State Volunteer President Cassandra Addison is a humble leader with years of connections and experience working on utilities advocacy on Capitol Hill.

She has volunteered for several years with her local AARP Columbia Chapter, as an AARP Foundation Tax Aide volunteer providing free tax preparation, on the South Carolina AARP Volunteer Executive Council and as an advocacy and community outreach volunteer with the AARP South Carolina State office.

In her newest role, Cassandra plans to focus on strengthening digital understanding and connectivity so that no one is left socially isolated or in the gap as more and more information and resources must be found online. She also has a strong passion for improving health care quality and access.
