AARP Philadelphia proudly commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in January, engaging in meaningful community service across the Philadelphia region. Emphasizing Dr. King's vision of unity and service, we partnered with local pantries, churches, Community Development Corporations (CDCs), and mobilized 15 dedicated volunteers to support our neighborhoods, aligning with AARP's mission.

Impacting Communities on a Day of Service
AARP's collaborative efforts spotlighted the importance of community service with local partners throughout the Southeast region of the state, including Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Pinn Memorial Baptist Church, New Journey Christian Center, Block by Block Community Clean-Up, and in Montgomery County at the Jarrettown United Methodist Church.

Celebrating Unity and Service
These projects not only honored MLK's legacy but also showcased the power of community service to foster inclusion and unity. AARP Pennsylvania is committed to continuing this tradition of service, inviting everyone to join future initiatives to strengthen and unite our communities further.

We express our deepest gratitude to all volunteers and partners who made this day a success, demonstrating that together, we can make a lasting impact in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream of a united community dedicated to service.

Join Us in Making a Difference
Looking forward, AARP Pennsylvania is inspired to expand our community service efforts, building on the successful foundation of this year's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. We encourage everyone to participate in our upcoming events, either as participants or as volunteers.

By engaging in service, we keep MLK's vision alive and contribute to a better future for our community. Join AARP Pennsylvania in our mission to serve and unite, making every day a day of service.
