AARP PA Launches Statewide Voter Education Effort
AARP Pennsylvania launched a new statewide voter education campaign focused on helping communities and older adults cut through the noise and avoid confusion when exercising their right to vote. Pennsylvania voters have been on an information rollercoaster ride since 2020, and we are providing Pennsylvanians 50-plus with trusted information about how, when, and where to vote in the 2022 elections.
"As part of our mission to empower Pennsylvanian’s 50-plus, AARP has long advocated for fair and straightforward election procedures,” says AARP Pennsylvania State Director Bill Johnston-Walsh. "Older Pennsylvanians must be able to freely, easily, and safely exercise their constitutional right to vote. The 50-plus are our nation’s most powerful voters – and they will be the deciders in the 2022 elections. And AARP Pennsylvania is committed to dispelling any confusion while fighting for voters 50-plus to make their voices heard on the issues that matter.”
The voter education campaign includes voter education videos, a voter election guide, which is available in English and Spanish, and other voter resources.
Our voter education campaign efforts have also included hosting tele-town halls with local and statewide elections officials providing us with the opportunity to respond directly to questions raised by our members and 50-plus voters about voting in the 2022 election cycle.
