AARP PA Hosts Tele-Town Hall with Chief Clerk to the Lehigh County Election Board

Posted on 05/04/22

AARP Pennsylvania hosted a Tele-Town Hall on April 29 detailing the ins and outs of voting in Lehigh County for the upcoming primary. AARP Pennsylvania State President Joanne Grossi was joined by Chief Clerk to the Lehigh County Election Board Timothy Benyo for the discussion. During the event,  the hosts went over how to vote, where to vote, and when to vote in the Pennsylvania primaries.

Among the highlights Grossi and Benyo noted:

  • There will be mail balloting in the May 17 primary. “Everyone who has filled out an application …. will get a ballot for this primary.”
  • Drop boxes: “There has been a lot of conversation about drop boxes … election code isn’t specific about drop boxes [but] the Supreme Court has made them a legal option for counties to use … We are using them in Lehigh county, there are 5 commissioner districts, and in each, there will be drop boxes available.”
  • The Pennsylvania Primary is Tuesday, May 17; polls will be open between 7 am and 8 pm.

Benyo urged all callers to go to the Lehigh County website: lehighcounty.org for more information.
