AARP Oklahoma and America Walks is hosting a two-day, virtual walkability workshop. Work with your community to gain a better understanding of the walkability challenges near you.

What is a Livable Community?

  • This event will equip participants with the knowledge to advocate for walkable, vibrant, safe and accessible communities.

What is a Walk Audit?

  • A walk audit involves assessing and reporting on the safety and walkability of a street, intersection or neighborhood.

What will I do?

  • Learn how to use the AARP Walk Audit Toolkit and resources to gather data on walkability and engage community members in grassroots advocacy. Participants will also learn how to organize a local movement, and create and advocate for walkable and livable communities, policy and design.
