NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Amos Britton has been selected by AARP, the nonprofit organization for people 50 and older, to receive the 2024 AARP New Jersey Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award for community service.

Britton has volunteered to teach more than 200 Driver Safety Courses to thousands of people, which has contributed to keeping New Jersey’s streets safe for all drivers.
I love what I do with AARP NJ to help my neighbors drive safely,” says Britton. “I am honored to receive the Andrus Award and follow in Dr. Andrus’ footsteps. Volunteering with AARP has brought me considerable joy that has helped me connect to my community in a new and exciting way. I look forward to continuing for many, many years, to come!
The award will be formally presented to Britton at a ceremony on on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Pierre’s of South Brunswick in Monmouth Junction, NJ.
This award acts as a symbol to the public that we can all work together for positive social change, says Chris Widelo, AARP New Jersey State Director.
