AARP Montana Releases Governor Voter Guide in Series, “Q & A with the Candidates”

Posted on 10/17/20 by Stacia Dahl

AARP Montana released its 2020 Governor voters’ guide series, entitled “Q & A with the Candidates.” The series builds on AARP Montana’s “Protect Voters 50+,” campaign to ensure 50-plus voters know where candidates stand on the issues that are important to them and their families.

AARP Montana posted the voter guide series online and is promoting the guides through a variety of ways, including on social media, volunteer networks and through email.

The voter guide series also includes:
Candidates for U.S. Senate: Steve Daines and Steve Bullock.

Collaboration with Northern Broadcasting to air the Montana Voter Guide Statewide
AARP Montana collaborated with Northern Broadcasting, to bring Montanans both the Governor and Senate Voter Guides. The U.S. Senate guide aired each day during the week of September 21 and the Governor guide aired during the week of October 12 on the statewide Voices of Montana radio program. With a reach of 179,000, Montanans in all corners across the state received information to help them make an informed decision as they cast their ballots for their choice in the state’s U.S. Senate race and Governor’s race. “Any candidate who hopes to win must address the concerns of voters 50-plus. This series helps inform Montanans and the public on where candidates stand on the issues, including the future of Social Security and Medicare, prescription drug pricing, protecting Montanans from fraud, COVID’s economic Impacts and long term care,” said Tim Summers, AARP Montana State Director. “We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure our members get the information they need to choose a candidate that supports their views and values.”

AARP has a proud 34-year history of non-partisan voter engagement and does not endorse or oppose candidates, nor does AARP make contributions to political campaigns or candidates. We encourage all Montanans to ask questions, so they understand where the candidates stand on important issues when making their decisions this fall.
