AARP Michigan Welcomes Cassie Thierfelder as Manager of Advocacy
AARP Michigan is pleased to announce the appointment of Cassie J. Thierfelder as the new Manager of Advocacy. Cassie brings experience in advocacy and government relations to our team, enhancing our commitment to championing the issues that matter most to older adults in Michigan.
Cassie comes to AARP Michigan from her role as Director of Advocacy and Government Relations at United Way for Southeastern Michigan, where she demonstrated exceptional skills in building strategic partnerships and advancing policy initiatives through engagement with legislators and community influencers.
A strong advocate for community involvement, Cassie has led multiple statewide advocacy efforts as Chair of the Policy Committee for the Michigan Association of United Ways. She has been instrumental in fostering collaborative relationships with elected officials and nonprofits, empowering them to advocate effectively for policy changes that benefit their communities.
Cassie holds a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Communications from Saginaw Valley State University.
