AARP Chapters across the state of Maryland are all vital parts of their community and take time to give back. We're proud to see the hard work they accomplish each and every year. As 2017 comes to an end we'd like to shine a spotlight on one chapter that has really gone above and beyond to volunteer in their community: Suitland Maryland Chapter 939.

In addition to volunteering with the AARP Maryland state office throughout the year, the Suitland chapter sponsors two local schools, visits nursing homes and more. This year alone the chapter made over 1,000 holiday cards that will be distributed to local nursing homes and shelters.

Suitland Chapter President, Allen Gilliman, had this to say about his organization's work: "We're very proud of what we do. As our founder, Ms. Ethel Percy Andrus said, 'we're here to serve not be served'".

Thank you, Suitland Chapter! We appreciate all you do!
