Toll Free Vaccine Hotline is Big News for AARP Maryland

BALTIMORE—AARP Maryland is applauding the launch of a new statewide COVID-19 vaccination support center, which can be accessed at 855-MDGOVAX. In a statement, AARP Maryland State Director Hank Greenberg said:

“This is big news for our 860,000 members and their loved ones. We want to thank Governor Hogan for heeding our call for a statewide toll-free hotline Marylanders who want to schedule their coronavirus vaccine. For weeks now, on tele-town halls and in conversations with our volunteers, we have been hearing stories of frustration and confusion from folks who are struggling to schedule their appointments. Telephone-based support will be especially helpful for the thousands of Marylanders who lack access to reliable broadband internet. With so many questions, they will appreciate access to live operator assistance. We also appreciate that the hotline is staffed from 7 AM to 10 PM, so that people can call at a time that works with their busy schedules. As the vaccine rollout continues, we look forward to sharing such positive progress with our members until everyone who wants a vaccine can get one.”
