AARP Maryland’s 2026 Legislative Priorities: Fighting for Marylanders 50+ and Their Families

With more than 800,000 members across the state, AARP Maryland advocates on issues that matter most to Marylanders age 50-plus and their families.

We are working to:

• Support family caregivers 
• Make improvements to long-term care 
• Elevate brain health and dementia education 
• Address rising utility costs 
• Protect Marylanders from fraud and financial exploitation 

Our Volunteer Advocates: The Heart of Our Mission
In 2026, our volunteer advocates from across the state will keep fighting to ensure legislators take action on the issues that matter to Maryland families. They meet with lawmakers, share personal stories, and make sure the voices of Marylanders 50+ are heard where decisions are made.
