AARP Maine Presents: Understanding Your Electric Bill Workshop

Posted on 04/17/24

AARP Maine continues to fight to keep utility rates fair and reasonable in the state with the country’s oldest population. Rising utility costs coupled with higher housing, food and medicine expenses force many vulnerable, older adults to make tough choices. However, electricity costs are a particular concern and have increased faster than the rate of inflation.

AARP Maine will hold workshops for Mainers who want to:

  • Learn how to better understand their electric bills which we often hear can be quite confusing. What are the basic charges on our monthly bills? How are the rates computed?
  • Hear about AARP Maine's work to fight for fair and reasonable utility rates in the state.
  • Get involved in our efforts and become consumer advocates in their own communities.

Upcoming Virtual Workshop:
April 30th, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM
