Please sign up for the bicycling series presented by AARP Massachusetts and MassBike. The events will cover a range of topics including on-bike skills, bicycle maintenance, and a casual-paced group bike ride. See below to learn more about these events and to register for the sessions that best fit your interest.
On-Bike Skills
Join us and MassBike instructors for an on-bike skills clinic to teach the basics of getting back on the bike and riding comfortably. You’ll be in a protected lot and practice the Power Pedal start, safe and secure braking, swerving, signaling and scanning. These skills will come in handy for riding on bike paths, or out in traffic on the roads, or even for just casual rides to the ice cream parlor with friends. A working bicycle, helmet, and appropriate clothing like close-toe shoes are required for this event.

Mechanics and Bike Modifications
Every bike needs regular maintenance that can be performed at home in order to keep it from more serious issues down the road (and path). So us as a team from MassBike teaches the basics of the ABCs of bike maintenance (Air, Brakes, and Chain) to keep your bike riding safe and smooth. They will also discuss how to modify a bike, such as changing types of pedals or grips on the handlebars, to make it more comfortable and easier to ride. No need to bring your bike, but your welcome to if you want to get hands-on.

Group Ride on the Weekend
The best part about biking is biking with friends! Join a road captain from MassBike and riders from the local Worcester community for a casual-paced group bike ride along the bike paths and quiet streets of Worcester. We'll check out the Blackstone Heritage Corridor to learn about the history and origins of the industrial revolution, and we'll likely stop for ice cream along the way. A working bicycle, helmet, and appropriate clothing like close-toe shoes are required for this ride.
