AARP Louisiana to Host Political Roundtable with Award-Winning Journalists

On Thursday, Sept. 6, AARP Louisiana, the Louisiana Aging Network (LANA) and the Louisiana Council on Aging Directors’ Association (LACOADA) will host a Political Roundtable with award-winning journalists from across the state. This event will be held at the Baton Rouge Marriott, located at 5500 Hilton Avenue. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by the roundtable discussion at 12 noon.

The roundtable will focus on the impact of the upcoming statewide and legislative elections on the future of Louisiana and older adults. Dr. Pearson Cross, Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Lafayette, will serve as the moderator.

Roundtable participants include: Melinda Deslatte, Capitol Bureau Chief, Associated Press; Stephanie Grace, Columnist and editorial writer, The Advocate and The Times Picayune; Jim Engster, Host of “Talk Louisiana” WRKF-FM and Owner/President Louisiana Radio Network; Greg Hilburn, Chief Political Writer, Monroe News-Star and writer USA Today Network
