COVID-19 has changed how Kansans will cast their ballots in the state’s primary and general elections in August and November, 2020. AARP Kansas will be joined by Secretary of State Scott Schwab to talk about how Kansas voters can safely cast their ballots in the upcoming elections, as well as registration deadlines, voting options and other resources Kansans should know about during this election season.

When: Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why: A lot has changed due to COVID-19, but not the right to vote. State leaders are encouraging all Kansans to stay safe and hear factual information on how voters 50 and older and all Kansans can cast their votes, whether they choose to vote by mail or in person.

Important Dates:

· July 14: Deadline to register to vote

· July 15: Advance voting my mail and in-person may begin

· July 28: Deadline for voters to apply for advance mail ballots for the primary election

· August 4: Primary Election (K.S.A. 25-203)

· August 7: Deadline for receipt of advance mail ballots postmarked on/before primary election day
