Posted on 06/21/19 by Jason Tomcsi

Join AARP members from across Fort Wayne and Bridge of Grace Compassionate Ministries to convert two vacant lots into neighborhood pocket parks!

Pocket Park rendering

This volunteer opportunity will create welcoming spaces for people of all ages to relax, play, and enjoy the outdoors. The intergenerational project includes painting public art featuring cartoon characters from different eras and utilizing reclaimed materials (pallets, tires, dirt, etc.) to construct clubhouses, stucco walls, and seating areas.

Additional volunteer activities can include landscaping, painting murals, moving supplies, filling tires, operating power tools, and more. Come get your hands dirty!
