AARP Indiana is a Champion for Trails at Upcoming Event

On Saturday, August 3rd, AARP Indiana will be a champion for trails at Indy Gateway’s Gallop 5k! This is the 9th year of the event, hosted to raised funds to purchase land and support connectivity and expansion of the B&O Trail on Indy’s westside.

Indy Gateway Inc. is dedicated to the stabilization and rejuvenation of the west side of Indianapolis through community and economic development. Specifically, Indy Gateway focuses on five community initiatives: affordable housing, infrastructure, quality of life, economic development, and enhanced resources for residents.

AARP Indiana works alongside neighborhood-based organizations to champion livable communities initiatives aimed at improving access to transportation and housing options.

As a “Champions for Trails” sponsor, AARP Indiana will host a booth sharing information on various AARP Livable Communities resources, including AARP HomeFit program, Roadmap to Livability: Transportation, A Handbook for Improved Neighborhoods, and Walk Audit Toolkit.
