Re-Engaging Post Pandemic with Dr. Tom Williams: February 22nd
Join us and hear from Dr. Tom Williams, a clinical psychologist who recently retired from NASA where he served as the Element Scientist for Human Factors and Behavioral Performance. The social isolation caused by our collective and individual responses to the threat of COVID infection has taken a toll on our social, emotional, psychological and physical health. The most common way that adults deal with their distress has been connecting with friends and Family. However, the risk of COVID created a "tension" between our need to connect during stress and the risk of infection if we did "connect".  This presentation will briefly review our need to connect, the psychological and health tolls when we can't, and identify "re-integration" strategies that have been researched by NASA and the military. Learn more and register HERE. This virtual event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

AARP CA Disrupt Aging Community: Changing the Conversation on Aging: February 24th
We’re entering a new era of aging. People are living and working longer than ever before. At the same time, societal perceptions of aging have not kept pace with these shifts in longevity, as age discrimination in the workplace remain costly and ageist stereotypes are perpetuated in the public dialogue. Join us for an interactive presentation that challenges individuals of all ages to examine aging trends and the importance of building equity in longevity, discover what healthy aging means to them, and explore opportunities to live their best life. Learn more and register HERE. This virtual event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

Retirement – A New Beginning: February 28th
Join us as part of the Silicon Valley Reads series and hear from Diana Miller, Seniors’ Agenda Project Manager with Santa Clara County Department of Aging and Sophie Horiuchi-Forrester, San Jose Metro Manager with AARP California.
