Rick Planos has been selected to receive the 2023 AARP Illinois Andrus Award for Community Service, the association’s most prestigious volunteer tribute recognizing outstanding individuals for sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich the lives of others.

Whether lobbying on bills important to older adults Springfield, giving helpful presentations on Social Security and Fraud, or helping to host local events, Rick has made a lasting impact and improved the experience of aging for all Illinois residents.

"I have to be honest, this is far and away the biggest thing I have ever been awarded and I am incredibly honored to be the one winner of this award for the entire state of Illinois"

Recipients across the nation were chosen for their ability to enhance the lives of AARP members and prospective members, improve the community in or for which the work was performed, and inspire others to volunteer.
