AARP HomeFit – Take steps to make your home (both renters and owners) safer for all ages and abilities!
In 2017, National AARP started the Community Grant Challenge Program to encourage quick-action projects aimed at helping communities become more livable for people of all ages.
These grants help urban, rural and suburban communities make immediate improvements to public places, transportation, housing, digital connectivity, and more to jumpstart long-term progress.
With this year’s major investment of $4.2 million to 383 grantees across the country, United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s ELDER Alliance was selected to bring to life a community-wide event in Fall 2025 focused on HomeFit Modifications—empowering older adults to make their homes safer, more accessible, and age-friendly.
In addition to the ELDER Alliance being award $2500 to use towards the community events, they will receive one-on-one coaching from leaders from RL Mace Universal Design Institute to share with the community.
Spaces are limited at these two events — sign up now to reserve your spot!
