AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program Can Help You Prepare Taxes This Season
Tax season is here – and with it, your annual reminder that the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program will offer free tax preparation for taxpayers of all ages, especially adults 50 and older, during the 2021 tax season.
AARP is dedicated to helping our members, supporters, and the general public complete and file their taxes in a timely manner this year.
We are offering a number of dates and locations to help anyone who needs assistance get their taxes done. You do not need to be an AARP member, or over 50, to seek assistance.
Last year, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 108,360 Pennsylvania residents claim $62,969,266 in federal refunds and $5,372,337 in earned income tax credits. The program is offered at approximately 283 sites in Pennsylvania, including senior centers, libraries, churches and other convenient locations.
To be clear, there is no fee and AARP membership is not required.
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers can prepare most personal income tax returns, including those with basic self-employment income. Due to training limitations, the program cannot prepare taxes for businesses, self-employed individuals who have employees or losses, farm income, rental property with expenses, for those who own or traded cryptocurrency, and more.
