AARP Florida’s Dionne Polite to Serve on Broward College Foundation’s Board of Directors

The Broward College Foundation has announced the appointment of AARP Florida’s Director of State Operations Dionne H.E. Polite to its Board of Directors. Ms. Polite was appointed with three other new members at the Foundation’s board meeting on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

Recognized for her passion for education, Dionne is known as a true servant to the community through her volunteer work. As a member of AARP Florida’s leadership team, she brings a lifetime of experience to the Broward College Foundation Board of Directors and an understanding of nonprofits and the important role they serve in creating a healthy, vibrant community.

“We’re thrilled that Dionne’s lifelong efforts to improve the lives of others have been recognized in this way,” said AARP Florida State Director Jeff Johnson. “It’s amazing to see how her influence has positively impacted so many, and this additional leadership role will allow her to continue expanding her meaningful work in Florida’s communities.”

Dionne also serves on the executive committee of Leadership Florida, where she helps develop sustainable fundraising strategies for the organization. She is a graduate of the City University New York with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Dionne recently completed AARP’s Executive Education Program at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

The Broward College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the officially designated means of making private, charitable contributions to Broward College. Its purpose is to change lives through education by providing community awareness, advocacy and funding to the College. Broward College serves more than 60,000 students annually, providing residents of their community with certificate programs, two-year university-transfer degrees, two-year career degrees, and baccalaureate degrees in selected programs. The college’s mission is to provide high-quality educational programs and services that are affordable and accessible to a diverse community of learners.
