AARP Community Challenge Grant Recipient Check Presentation
Congratulations to the Raytown Chamber of Commerce Building Foundation, Inc. for receiving the AARP Community Challenge Grant valued at $5,000!
AARP Missouri staff and volunteers recognized the award with a check presentation ceremony during the August 28th Raytown Chamber Of Commerce Membership Luncheon. The Foundation is excited about being able to add an outdoor “refresh yourself” station, that will include two park benches and a water fountain.
The amenities are being added for those that bike on the Rockland Trail, which runs along the front of the Foundation’s building. The project is projected to be completed by the end of the year.
Over 160 non-profit organizations throughout the US applied for the AARP Community Challenge Grant. Two communities in Missouri were awarded $5,000 to improve their outdoor amenities. Trailnet, a non-profit in St. Louis that advocates for better access to safe walking and biking options for pedestrians and bikers, is creating a parklet at the intersection of Laclede and Vandeventer avenues.
Congratulations on this well deserved award!
