AARP AZ Hispanic Connection
Dear AARP member, this is David Parra, Associate State Director for Multicultural Outreach in Arizona.
We are committed to meeting and exceeding our consumers’ expectations by helping them feel confident, in control, and secure as they age. And we need your help! We want to get to know you better and understand the types of educational, fun and enrichment activities that AARP can provide for you.
At AARP Arizona, we take special efforts to serve our Hispanic-Latino community. We tackle issues such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, Caregiving and Long-Term Care, Fraud and Scams, fundamentals of financial security, retirement planning, and more. These educational offerings are conducted in English and Spanish. We also offer fun, enriching and entertainment events such as Movies for Grownups, Lunch and Learns, Healthy Living Activities, and our relax, get creative, and fun Painting Events. And of course, we always need additional help, so we have plenty of volunteer opportunities!
In 2017, the AARP Arizona Hispanic Connection platform – consisting of a Facebook page and a YouTube channel – was created. We use this platform to promote our offerings that are tailored to our Hispanic/Latino community. All Hispanic-Latino virtual offerings as well as promotion for in-person events are offered via this platform. Our ask
In order to deliver fun and educational programs, helpful solutions, get the answers you need – when you need them – We need your help! We want to provide you with trusted sources of information that you can easily find when you need them, access to helpful resources, tools, and digital experiences that are user-friendly. We want you to find our educational offerings useful and our fun activities uplifting. We want you to engage with AARP in fun ways that are meaningful to you. En AARP, estamos comprometidos a cumplir y superar las expectativas de nuestros consumidores. Nuestro objetivo es ayudarles a sentirse confiados, en control y seguros a medida que envejecen. ¡Y necesitamos tu ayuda! Deseamos conocerlos mejor y comprender los tipos de actividades educativas, divertidas y enriquecedoras que AARP les puede brindar.
En AARP Arizona, nos esmeramos de manera especial en servir a nuestra comunidad hispano-latina. Abordamos temas como el Seguro Social, Medicare, Medicaid, la Ley de Cuidado de Salud a Bajo Precio, prestación de cuidados, cuidado a largo plazo, fraude y estafas, aspectos básicos de seguridad financiera, planificación para la jubilación y otros. Estos ofrecimientos educativos se llevan a cabo en inglés y español. También ofrecemos eventos divertidos y enriquecedores, tales como películas para personas de 50 y más, almuerza y aprende, actividades de vida saludable, y eventos de pintura, los cuales traen relajamiento, creatividad y diversión. Y, por supuesto, tenemos muchas oportunidades de voluntariado, por si gusta ayudarnos.
