AARP AZ Experience Corps and City of Phoenix Team Up To Help Students

"The City of Phoenix and AARP are teaming up to help Phoenix students. During the pandemic, the literacy rate for Phoenix third graders dropped down to 25 percent, the lowest it has been in seven years. We're looking for volunteers ages 50 and older to tutor elementary students twice per week during the 2022-23 school year. Information sessions are available bi-monthly on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the following dates: April 20, May 4 and 18, June 15 and 29, July 13 and 27, Aug. 10 and 24, Sept. 7 and 21, as well as October 5 and 26.
