David Kalinoski, Associate State Director of Community Outreach for AARP Pennsylvania in York, commenced the ceremony with a resonant message: "Community is more than where you live. It’s about the people. It’s about those who go above and beyond to help a place thrive." Kalinoski highlighted Dr. Andrus's pioneering efforts to provide older Americans with a unified voice advocating for pivotal social reforms.

York, Pennsylvania Volunteer Team Lead, Kacey French presented the award to Ophelia M. Chambliss, a local artist celebrated for her unique contribution to the community through art. Chambliss, an artist known for her realistic cubism, has graced the nation with her works in solo and group exhibitions, as well as large-scale installations across the Commonwealth.

Kacey French, described Chambliss's collaborative approach with clients, ensuring her art resonates with their mission and objectives. This approach is exemplified by a project with Lafayette Elementary School in Lancaster, where Chambliss transformed an outdoor wall into a canvas reflecting student artwork.

Chambliss seamlessly blends visual art with verbal and written narratives, adding depth to her creations. Moreover, her professional expertise extends beyond the canvas as she educates and mentors aspiring artists in business acumen within the art industry.

The ceremony not only celebrated the remarkable contributions of Ophelia M. Chambliss but also reinforced AARP Pennsylvania's commitment to empowering individuals and enhancing community life through recognition, support, and advocacy.
