50 Over 50

Posted on 08/16/22

The 50 Over 50 list recognizes and celebrates the courageous, compassionate, and selfless acts of service by Minnesotans over the age of 50 who are giving their all as they care for others, reimagine their careers and businesses, and give hope to our communities. They don’t adhere to the belief that our capacity to blaze a trail or shake things up diminishes as we age. They’re living life on their own terms and improving the lives of others all at the same time.

AARP Minnesota and Pollen are proud to present the 2022 50 Over 50 list. Join us as we recognize and celebrate 50 incredible Minnesotans over the age of 50 who are challenging outdated beliefs about aging, living life on their own terms, and improving the lives of others.

Join AARP Minnesota and Pollen for a 50 OVER 50 CELEBRATION on October 5 at Quincy Hall (1325 Quincy St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413).

Twenty under twenty. Thirty under thirty. Forty under forty. There’s no shortage of lists for people under a certain age who are making significant contributions in their communities. It’s time to recognize that possibilities shouldn’t be limited by age. It's time to change the stories we tell ourselves about aging. It’s time for a new list.

Since 2016, we’ve honored over 250 individuals from across the state of Minnesota who keep our communities connected, whole, and nourished; strengthen and grow our nonprofit sector; create a thriving culture; steward our economic resources and talent; and infuse the energy of innovation into industries, products, systems, and policies that improve our lives.

AARP Minnesota works every day to challenge outdated beliefs and spark new solutions. Pollen harnesses the power of narrative change to build a freer, more just, and more loving world. Our two organizations have come together to recognize and celebrate the possibilities and contributions that come with age.

SPECIAL THANKS

The final list of 50 Over 50 honorees is determined by AARP Minnesota, Pollen, and a selection committee comprised of cross-sector community leaders from across the state. These community leaders emulate the qualities we’re looking for in our 50 Over 50 honorees. They inspire others with their work, they challenge outdated beliefs, and they’ve made an impact on their community and the people who live there. We owe a great deal of thanks to our selection committee for all the time and energy they invested in helping us bring 50 Over 50 to life.
