2022 Elections: Tips for Mississippi Voters to Prepare for Primaries

Posted on 03/31/22 by The AARP Bulletin

Mississippi’s primaries for U.S. House seats are Tuesday, June 7.

Eligible voters can register until the May 9 deadline, by mail or in person at designated sites; find details at the state’s election website, sos.ms.gov/yall-vote.

Mississippi does not have early voting, but certain residents—including those 65 and older, those with a temporary or permanent physical disability and those temporarily residing outside their county—may vote absentee.

Others may be able to vote absentee as well, either by mail or in person at their county circuit clerk’s office; a list of county circuit clerk’s offices and a “Step-by-Step Guide to Absentee Voting” is available at the state’s election website.
