Swallows of Kabul (Les hirondelles de Kaboul), The

Set in the summer of 1998 in Kabul, where the lives of two Afghani couples become fatefully entwined as they face violence and misery every day under Taliban control. Mohsen and Zunaira are passionate young lovers, while Atiq and Mussarat are a middle-aged couple. When one day Mohsen commits a senseless act that results in an accident, Zunaira finds herself left in the custody of Atiq.
