2023 was the first year for the new Pineapple Festival, and it was a tremendous success!. It?ll be at Ka’ala Elementary in 2024. The festival still benefits the Wahiaw? Historical Society?s proposed Wahiaw? museum, and it is still a collaboration of community groups in Wahiaw?.
Expect great food and vendors, as well as fun entertainment, a country market, and the Pineapple Bake Off and Paper Plane Contest!

Bake Off
Open to ages 12 and up, competitors are challenged to bring their best Pineapple dessert to be taste-tested by an esteemed panel of judges. You must choose a category of dessert to compete in–Brownies/Bars, Cakes, Candies & Confections, Cookies, Dessert Beverages, Frozen, Pastries, Pies & Cobblers, Puddings & Custards, Miscellaneous. The winner of each category will go on to compete in a final round. The final winner will be added to our perpetual trophy and walk away with $500!
10:00 – 10:45 AM Contestant Registration 11:00 AM Judging
There are two YOUTH age divisions (7-12) and (13-17) and and ADULT division (18+). The thrower with the longest recorded distance in each division will win her/his name on the perpetual trophy and a $100 prize.
